BUSINESS PROBLEM

PowerPoint-heavy teams lost hours due to constant context switching: build slides → hunt commands across nested ribbons/menus → back to work interface.

The workflow mostly rewarded power-users (shortcuts + muscle memory), whereas ~90% of users don't use shortcuts, therefore where stuck in slower ribbon-driven habits.

As the feature surface grew, discoverability broke: critical actions got buried, slowing execution and limiting adoption at scale.

Users can run any functionality from one place, without context switching.

WHAT I DID

Built a command palette as main entry point to all UpSlide & native commands behind one ribbon entry point and one shortcut.

Integrated AI actions directly into the command flow, keeping users in flow instead of routing them to a separate tool.

Defined UX rules to keep the experience lightweight and avoid becoming a feature dump; ranking, grouping, empty states + safeguards.
